Co-Flo Launches AI-Powered Matter Management for the iManage Platform to Help Law Firms Reduce Write-Offs and Improve Profitability
Embedded directly within the iManage platform, the solution combines financial data with real-time matter progress, using AI agents and human oversight to help firms identify risks, improve resource utilization, and strengthen client service
AMSTERDAM, November 3, 2026: Co-Flo, an iManage Certified Technology Partner, today announced the launch of Co-Flo for Law Firms, an AI-powered matter management solution designed to help law firms identify potential cost overruns before they result in write-offs. By bringing together financial data, matter progress and AI-driven insights directly within the iManage platform, the solution enables firms to improve financial oversight, resource utilization and client satisfaction.
For many law firms, visibility into matter progress remains fragmented. While documents and emails are managed in the iManage platform, time and billing information resides in separate practice management systems and matter status is often tracked through spreadsheets, task lists and manual updates. As a result, scope changes and budget overruns may go unnoticed until billing, when opportunities to address them are limited. This challenge is particularly significant for fixed-fee and alternative fee arrangements, where firms bear the financial impact of cost overruns.
Connecting Matter Progress with Financial Performance
Co-Flo for Law Firms addresses this challenge by connecting time, work in progress and billing data from the firm's practice management system with documents, communications and matter activity directly within the iManage platform, including its next generation interface. By comparing work completed against budget consumption, firms can identify potential overruns earlier, assess changes in scope and take corrective action before profitability is affected.
The solution also provides dashboards that give lawyers, practice leaders and firm management visibility into workloads, matter progress and financial performance. Client-ready progress reports consolidate billing information, work status and identified scope changes, helping firms proactively manage client expectations and make more informed operational decisions.
Unlike traditional matter management solutions that rely heavily on manual data entry, Co-Flo uses AI agents to analyze documents and emails as they are stored in the iManage platform. These agents propose updates to matter status, key dates and other relevant information, which are reviewed and approved by users before being applied. This human in the loop approach helps maintain accurate matter records while reducing the administrative burden on legal teams.
“I have seen the pain lawyers go through when they have to explain an overrun they only discovered at billing,” said Matteo Pagani, founder and CEO of Co-Flo. “Almost every one of those conversations would have gone differently a month earlier. We designed Co-Flo to bring new visibility into work and the ability to act on it when it's most impactful. And it’s all built on the iManage platform, taking full advantage of it’s need to know security and single user experience.
“Co-Flo demonstrates the value of iManage as an open platform for innovation, enabling partners to build solutions that address critical business challenges for our customers,” said Ryan Begin, Vice President of Technology Partnerships and Ecosystem Strategy at iManage. “By bringing matter management and financial insights into the iManage experience, Co-Flo is helping law firms connect the work they do every day with broader business outcomes. Our growing partner ecosystem continues to extend the value of the iManage platform, giving customers new ways to improve efficiency, productivity and service delivery.”
